This service is created for families who are unable to visit the columbarium in person but still wish to honour their ancestors in a meaningful and respectful way. Our team manages the entire tribute process with care and attention to detail, giving customers peace of mind and reassurance that their prayers and offerings are carried out properly. It reflects our sincere commitment to serving every family with compassion and respect.
Nirvana Memorial Garden provides this worship service on behalf of customers during the following occasions:
- Qing Ming / Tomb Sweeping Festival (清明节) — the principal occasion for tending to a resting place and presenting offerings. See our guide to preparing for Qing Ming.
- Hungry Ghost Festival / Zhong Yuan Festival (中元节) — the seventh lunar month, when offerings are made to ancestors and wandering spirits alike. Read more on observing the seventh month.

What a Pray-On-Behalf Package Includes
Offerings are prepared according to the traditions of each festival — what is presented at Zhong Yuan differs from what is presented at the Winter Solstice. Our team prepares the offerings accordingly, then attends to your loved one's niche or ancestral tablet on your behalf, presenting incense, offerings, and prayers.
You do not need to be present. Provide your loved one's name and the location of their niche or tablet when you register, and we take care of the rest.
Who This Service Helps
The service began as a way to serve families during a period when visiting in person was difficult, and has since become a standing offering. Families who use it are typically in one of these situations:
- Living or working overseas, and unable to return to Singapore during the festival period
- Bound by work and family commitments that make the specific date difficult to keep
- Elderly or with limited mobility, for whom the journey is demanding
- Honouring several departed family members and unable to reach every resting place
How to Register
Packages are booked by festival, with limited places released several weeks ahead of each occasion. Booking multiple festivals together attracts a discount — in past years, ordering three or more festivals in a single booking has qualified for a reduced rate. Pray-On-Behalf is one of the prayer services at Nirvana Memorial Garden. If you would like to arrange remembrance rites outside the festival calendar, we also conduct Kong Teck ceremonies and the 49-day prayer service, coordinated by the same team.
